Care Home Performances
Enhanced DBS, Public Liability insurance, Dementia Friendly.
Hello there, We are The Victory Vixens, We are based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
We cover North Staffordshire and East Cheshire for Care home Bookings.
We have weekday and weekend availability for care homes, Retirement villages, Memory cafes, and more.
We have 3 years experience performing in care settings and for senior audiences. We are passionate about using music/entertainment to uplift spirits and provide meaningful, interactive experiences for residents.
We specialise in music from the 1940's wartime era and all the popular sing along songs from that era.
**New for 2026 is our Christmas show, bringing Christmas songs from the 1940's through to modern day with a vintage twist**
Our performances are designed to encourage engagement, reminiscence, and overall enjoyment. We try to incorporate meaningful, person centred activities
We have 2 formats to our shows
The first is where we allow residents to select the songs we sing from our jukebox, they then have to solve a simple picture quiz (think catchphrase) to figure out what the song is, We then provide some fun props such as pom poms, Flags, Microphones, Guitars, Light sticks, and more to engage residents in a fun upbeat performance.
Our second format is our Memory Trunk option
Memory trunk is our version of reminiscence therapy, So we will bring a 1940s/WW2 themed suitcase packed with memorabilia from the 1940s era, including sensory objects such as carbolic soap, old coins, dog tags, vintage lipsticks, make up compacts, Ration books, Spam and more.
The Spitfire model airplane will tell us tales of Reginald Mitchell and its links to Staffordshire.
We will even have a visit from an Evacuee who has travelled from London to Staffordshire.
We have tailored this group based session to encourage socialisation and shared story telling to trigger emotional recall.
We use familiar Objects, Scents, Photos and Music to spark memories and encourage residents to tell us their stories.
We sing songs from the era in a group session as this taps into musical memories and rhythyms even when language and general recall fade. This connection provides profound therapeutic emotional and physical benefits.
Key benefits of our sessions:
Enhanced communication: Talking about the past encourages conversation and helps connect the individual with family and carers.
Reduced Anxiety and Agitation: Focusing on Positive, comforting memories helps to soothe and calm those experiencing confusion.
Preservation of identity: It affirms the individuals life history, making them feel valued, heard and respected.
Improved mood: Recalling happier times combats depression and increases overall well-being.
Our performance length is typically an hour in duration.
We have our own self powered PA system so there's no need for a PAT test
Full public liability insurance and enhanced DBS held by one of our group
Both Ladies have their TENANCY TQUK Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Dementia Care (CR)
